*I was sorry to learn that prolific science-fiction author and futurist Damien Broderick died last Saturday. I never met Damien but we debated each other very frequently on the old Extropian List and he let me read an early draft of his book "The Spike" and make suggestions. The book was about The Singularity and he almost lived long enough to experience it. I don't know if Damien was signed up for Cryonics but I sure hope he was. *
