*You'd think that after the devastating experience the US had with Covid which killed more than one million Americans and caused many trillions of dollars damaged to the economy, anybody with half a brain would take measures that would avoid, or at least ameliorate, a similar pandemic occurring in the future, but apparently Donald Trump and his clown car cabinet don't have even half a brain. They have canceled a $577 million research program that was trying to develop drugs to treat whole families of viruses that cause diseases such as Rift Valley fever, Ebola, Marburg, yellow fever, dengue, Zika, measles, chikungunya and even the common cold.** Also canceled was $11.4 billion that was to go to state and country health departments. Trump's brainless bureaucrats say that it's all a waste of money because the pandemic is "over", and it never occurred to them that there might be another pandemic. The truth is during just the last 28 days about 1800 Americans died of Covid, and bird flu and plenty of other diseases are waiting in the wings. The level of stupidity is simply staggering! *
