Hello all - As you may know, The Evergreen Project board has been considering a move to a membership-based organization as part of the implementation of our recently adopted strategic plan. Earlier this year, we updated our bylaws (1) to reflect this change. At our most recent meetings, we have approved both the membership model itself, as well as a contributor model and dues structure for individuals and institutions interested in supporting the project and participating in its governance. I know that many of you will want to participate in the contributor program, and am hopeful that many of us will also contribute financially at the individual and and organizational levels.
We plan to open 2026 member and contributor sign-ups in early November, and you can look for a splashier press release at that time, but I wanted to provide you with this update on the board's activities and plans for the future.
