The proposed code does not address the melting NEMA 14-50 issue.  The solution
to that is to mandate thermal sensors in plugs.
I melted a twist lock with a converted to J1772 AVCON. I switched to a 14-30 
the problem never appeared again. I then switched to a 14-50 My Tesla portable 
charger seems to max out the circuit at 32amps. Should never be a problem. 
Teslas seem to have a very good sensor. Lawrence Rhodes
