My dad had a fit, though. He worked for the Post Office, and was a union steward. The union was adamantly opposed to EVs, preferring to get generous reimbursements for using their own cars. Some locals went so far as to deliberately sabotage the EVs they were forced to drive.
Management has to be onboard with the EVs and people that sabotage government property need to be fired and prosecuted. I talked to my mail man in San Francisco and he said he did 7 miles a day. I think the pilot project in Alameda, CA had a similar problem. Employees that didn't want to "plug in their vehicles after work".
