Tesla's good news: they had their best quarter ever in 2024Q4, shifting 495,570 vehicles worldwide, a 2.3% increase over 2023Q4. The increase was most likely spurred by 0% financing, reduced lease prices, and free charging programs.
Tesla's bad news: despite the last quarter boost, 2024 was their first year on year decline since 2011. Their 2024 worldwide deliveries were 1,789,226, off about 1.1% from 1,808,581 in 2023. Models 3 and Y amounted to 98.7% of the total sales. Tesla sold only 23,640 X, S, and CT models *combined*. https://cleantechnica.com/2025/01/02/ev-sales-slump-of-2024-was-overblown- now-lets-do-2025/ or https://cntp.me/ZJEHSJB https://www.marketbeat.com/articles/tesla-reports-11-sales-drop-for-2024- first-annual-decline-in-a-decade-2025-01-02/ or https://cntp.me/GjpuXMr Any way you look at it, though, 1.8 million EVs is still a LOT of EVs. I haven't yet seen a report of total 2024 EV sales (all brands). Stay tuned. David Roden, EVDL moderator & general lackey To reach me, don't reply to this message; I won't get it.
