I am a bit of a tinkerer. Anyone who does conversions is I suppose. I had three legacy Avcon EVSE that I converted to J1772 when we got Leafs. They have all failed after a decade with the same symptom. The talking EVSE summed it up as "the EV is not connected". Cor said the same thing mentioning the pilot wire and I think Phil mentioned he had a pile of Tesla EVSE with one wire damaged through the normal bending while plugging in. I suspect the pilot wire as it is 18 gauge. You would think this would last a long time but I guess after a decade they all go...or is it something else..... I will probably get my continuity tester out and find the bad connection. Then figure out how to repair. In the past I have split the casing at the bend point and solder. In the meantime the Tesla portable EVSE is a bargain at $230.00 Lawrence Rhodes -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
