It grieves me to report that we've lost a longtime EV list contributor. Gail Lucas passed away on 29 October in Las Vegas, where she'd lived since the late 1970s. Her sister was at her side.
In 1992, Gail gave away her prized 1972 Cadillac Eldorado ICEV and went fully electric. I lost count of all the EVs she collected over the years, but the ones I knew of included a Clarence Ellers-built Aztec kit car, a Bradley GT II Electric, a converted VW Beetle, a Westinghouse Markette, at least a half-dozen Citicars and Comuta-Cars, and at least two E-bikes. She especially loved the C-Cars. They suited her needs perfectly, and were easy to drive and park. Gail was fully dedicated to zero-emission motoring. In 1996 she posted on this list, "I do not maintain an ICE. If I can't get somewhere via an acceptable mode of transportation, I don't go." She was involved with the Las Vegas EAA (Electric Auto Association) chapter. Here on the EV list, she probably answered as many C-Car questions as she asked. I've added a memorial page to the EVDL library. http://evdl.org/pages/glucas.html You can click or tap the photos for larger versions.
