Actually quite the opposite. AI *subtracts* creditility. Often it encases
steaming garbage in pretty language.

It also wastes an unsettling amount of energy generating that junk.

That kind of "cross-breeding" a grand tradition with automakers.

When they needed small cars to compete, but didn't want to bother with
designing them or, at times, manufacturing them, the US big four paid others
to do it.

Nash had their Metropolitan assembled in England. Buick sold German-made
Opels¸ and later, Japanese Isuzus with Opel badges (weird). Plymouth sold
Hillman Avengers from the UK as Crickets. Dodge sold Japanese Mitsubishis as
Colts, and Plymouth sold them as Arrows. GM sold Toyota, Suzuki, and Daewoo
designs. Ford sold English and German Fords, and later, Kia designs. These
are just the small cars I can think of offhand. I'm sure there were more.

Similar shenanigans are afoot with EVs, though now they're often billed as
"partnerships" or "collaborations." For example, the same electric van is
sold under (IIRC) 4 or 5 different brands in Europe. Stellantis is planning
to dodge tariffs by building Chinese-designed EVs in cheap-labor Eastern
Europe nations.

I saw a sign on a guy's garage that said "Don't even think
about parking here." So you know what I did? I sat right
there and I thought about it. I yelled up at his window,
"Hey buddy, I'm thinking about it. Go ahead, call the cops.
I'll just tell them I was thinking about something else."
