Hi folks
I’ve used LiFePo4 batteries in EVs and solar systems for years but was told by
the fire department that they shouldn’t be inside the house in the basement
incase they caught on fire. I have two Eco Worthy 12V 280ah batteries in
series for my XL1 Bergey wind turbine (inverters for fridge/well pump etc).
Is there any real data showing the odds of a fire for keeping these float
charged at 13.6V (per Eco Worthy-China) recommendations?

They’re on a concrete floor with 8 foot concrete walls. They sell a black
lithium safe battery flexible cover but looks a bit flimsy to me. I’ve googled
LFP or Lifepo4 fires but hard to find any specific data related to iron added
to Lithium (that’s safer than other chemistry combinations). I’d put them
outside but not recommended below freezing.
Best regards
