How does the system used by Ford and Rivian work? The article discusses
"software coordination with Tesla". With an actual Tesla, you just plug
in, the car satisfies the charger that it should be charged, and billing
communication is handled by the car. With magic dock, you can charge
any CCS car, and authorization and billing is handled by the app on your
phone. How does the Ford/Rivian system work? Does the adapter have to
do something about authorization and billing? What does the car have to
do?

When you tell the Tesla app that you want to charge a non-Tesla car, it
first asks you if you have an adapter. Could any car charge with such
an adapter at a non-magic-dock charger, or is this question really
asking if you have a Ford or Rivian with an adapter?

Thanks!

                                        Ken
