David was an amazing person. He gave a lot of his time and talents to the DEVC here in Colorado. He has been a positive influence and an encouraging presence for many people throughout the years we had the privilege of knowing him.

Hi Folks,
David McNeil whom I worked with from 79’ at Honeywell in Colorado Springs
passed away in April I discovered when trying to call him for the annual Pikes
Peak race that we’ve been going to since 79’ and covering the EVs for the DEVC
(Denver Electric Vehicle Council). He has a collection of EVs dating back to
the first Sebring Vanguard Bob Beaumont CityCar in his backyard. Below is a
link to send flowers/contact info. He is survived by his wife Martha and 4
sons/daughters. He was instrumental in keeping the DEVC going over the years
as president and secretary , tirelessly doing the Newsletter for about 300
subscribers. I’ll be at the Start Line again this year June 23rd and Friday
FanFest checking out the F150 Lightning Ford Truck racing with Romain Dumas who
got the worlds record 2018 with the VW IDR 7min 57sec EV. No one (especially
gassers with triple series turbos now) have come close the the EV worlds record
and probably won’t this year in a truck EV. David always did an accurate job
of covering this race printing the times, technical details of the EVs and
interviewing the drivers at FanFest , tech tune and race day. He will be missed
by fellow EVers in Colorado (where I lived before and visit annually).
