Hello Ryan
I still get the list and read it from time to time but I haven't posted in
a while. As I'm almost 70 now I do a lot of reflecting back to when I
started my EV adventure with golf cart batteries and a Curtis controller.
Things have changed a lot over the years we can now get an amp hour meter
for less than 100 bucks when back in the golf cart battery days you meter
was close to 300. I remember when AC motors were an expensive dream and now
seem to be cheaper than DC brush motor and controller setups. Looking back
it should be easy to see tipping points at some point it was not
cost-worthy to build an electric car compared to buying one. Still people
today like to build things and they're certainly is enough salvage parts
from all the new EVs out there that one can cobble something together.
Today anything home made is compared with a Tesla pricewise and performance
wise. Steve Clunn
