Not to dismiss your suggestion - I'm sure it's worth considering - but to me that still seems like a fair bit of cash, especially for a used EV It's half again as much as a *brand new* Bolt. Is the 3 really half again the car? And used at that? I guess that that depends on what you consider important. Don't forget that the Tesla is likely to cost more to insure (looks like around 13% more), and more to repair once it's out of warranty. I don't own a Tesla, so maybe my judgment is suspect, but they seem to be pretty nice EVs. However, they were already expensive, and in the last year or so, the prices have gone from eyebrow-raising to breath-taking. I get it - it's supply and demand, what the taxicab "disruptors" call "surge pricing." If you're selling out, raise the price until you're not. Basic capitalism. Your stockholders are apt to crucify you otherwise. But I can't help thinking that nothing quite says "we're out to change the world with EVs" like making them less affordable. IMO, at this point, like a Leica camera or a Rolex watch, a Tesla is a fine piece of EV machinery for those who want and can afford the best. Peri may have Tesla-level disposable income, and I'm happy for him if he does (I mean that; I'm not being snarky). For those who don't, there are more affordable options - and thank goodness for that. FWIW, a Canon camera will also take pretty decent photos, and a Timex watche will keep you on time fairly well.
