This has been going on for a while. I think I read about it in the spring or late winter. It's the destructive mindset that when someone does something entirely legal that you disagree with, you can make him change his ways by punishing him. You can't successfully housetrain a puppy by hitting him when he makes a mistake. You reward him when he asks out, although there are a lot of disgusting people who don't seem to have figured that out. Punishment doesn't work any better with people than it does with dogs. If you want vehicle owners to choose differently, make it worth their while to choose differently. That's why EV subsidies and tax credits are effective. Just ask Norway.
