For that controller you could probably use toothpaste (kidding) and be fine.
I worked for a bitcoin ASIC company and we went through every thermal interface system on the market, and even some not on the market to test things. We were running about 800W of heat through a 1 square inch interface, so this is several orders of magnitude you'd see in a 1231C. The best bang/buck paste we found was Arctic MX2, however, what we settled on was Indium foil. However, it's going to cost you a lot to use stuff like the Arctic, Here's what I use and recommend for controller to heatsink: https://amzn.to/3y2YnJh On Sat, Jun 18, 2022 at 11:03 AM Bill Dennis via EV <ev@lists.evdl.org> wrote: > Anyone have a thermal grease that they'd recommend for spreading between a > Curtis 1231C and its heat sink? > > Thanks, > > Bill Dennis > > _______________________________________________ > Address messages to ev@lists.evdl.org > No other addresses in TO and CC fields > UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/sub/index.html > CONFIG: http://lists.evdl.org/options.cgi/ev-evdl.org > ARCHIVE: http://www.evdl.org/archive/ > INFO: http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
