I still use plain text for all my mail. That way I'm sure *anyone* can read it... not just those with recent computers and operating systems. I read email with a mail program; not online, so I don't see the ads.

Sometimes I receive email with no text; or just HTML. If it's from a name I recognize, I'll use the online browser which will show me the HTML. Or worse, just images of the text (I hate that!) My browser is set to delete them (they're just ads).

I create all my web pages in HTML4, with a plain old text editor. They are something like 1/10th the size of what would be created with a composer.
