Chevy is offering up to $10,000 in lease incentives on the electric hatch.

  - Chevrolet dealers are currently offering up to $10,000 in lease
incentives for the 2020 Bolt EV.
  - All customers get an $8500 discount, while current lessees are offered
an additional $1500 in loyalty bonuses.
  - That means certain customers could get a three-year lease at around $169
a month for an EV that now has a EPA-estimated 259-mile range.

The all-electric Chevrolet Bolt EV is now available with about $10,000 in
lease incentives. The 2020 Bolt EV has an EPA-estimated driving range of 259
miles, up from a previous 238 miles.

Customers in San Francisco, according to dealer ads, could get an additional
$1400 bonus, which would mean that they could have the opportunity to get a
three-year lease at around $169 a month. The $10,000 is only for customers
who already lease a Chevy Volt [pih] or a Bolt EV —all customers get an
$8500 discount, while current lease customers can get an additional $1500.
We found Bolt EVs at our local Suburban Chevrolet of Ann Arbor, Michigan,
with the $8500 offer in "customer cash."

As for purchasing the car, a dealer in Miami, Florida, has a loaded
Chevrolet Bolt Premier listed with a $14,370 incentive, bringing the price
down below $30,000 before the federal EV incentive. And an LT model is
available for under $28,000 in Oregon, according to a report on Electrek.
The Chevrolet Bolt LT's purchase price starts at $37,495, with Premier
models starting at $41,895.

For 2020, the Chevy Bolt EV has an EPA-estimated range of 259 miles, up from
238. Chevrolet says that the 8 percent increase is thanks to a change in the
chemistry of the cell electrodes in the lithium-ion battery. Its energy
capacity is now up from 60.0 kWh to 66.0 kWh. This increased range now helps
it beat a a few newer competitors, including the Hyundai Kona Electric
(EPA-rated 258 miles), the Kia Soul EV (243 miles), the Tesla Model 3
Standard Range plus (240 miles), and the Kia Niro EV (239 miles).

I just leased an electric car — and it’s keeping me up at night
Guess what happened. Three weeks into a three-year lease on a Chevy Bolt, I
not only forgot to plug the sucker in overnight, ... When I signed the
lease, I didn’t truly appreciate the meaning of the word “range.” I figured
a 230-mile range means you can actually drive 230 miles on a full charge.
Theoretically, you can — but not if you want to turn on the heater or the
air conditioner, defrost the windshield, or drive over 50 mph hour on the
freeway.
