If you want to make that argument, NO technology is zero emission. Hydrogen *can* be made from natural gas, as well as other things - no different than the electricity on the grid.

The result of an explosion in Santa Clara fool cell vehicles were stranded. https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/hydrogen-fuel-cell-car-california-explosion/Sadly the station in Norway(that spectacularly blew up) was one of the few that produced using electrolysis. That station is even less efficient than gas reformation. So no matter how you look at it hydrogen is silly and dangerous as a motive fuel.
