What they are trying to achieve is what used to be called "valet parking". You pull up to the entrance, get out of your car, and a (human) attendant parks it for you. When you exit, the attendant brings the car to you.

Sheesh. Why not give somebody a job, and maybe a few $$$ more on tips? For those with "stranger paranoia", it would be far easier to give the car a "valet mode" that won't drive more than 5 mph or farther than X feet from the owner's cellphone, and takes pictures of the valet while it's being driven? Wouldn't that be far simpler, cheaper, and more reliable?
