We’d Love To See Tesla’s “Blade Runner” Pickup Look Like This

Tesla is gearing up to unveil its first ever all-electric pickup truck later
this year and designer Emre Husmen has dreamt up what it could (should?)
look like.

As the Californian car manufacturer has only released a single teaser image
of its truck, very little is known about what the exterior of the vehicle
will look like. Elon Musk has described it as a “really futuristic-like
cyberpunk, ‘Blade Runner’ pickup truck”, so we’re hopeful it will be just as
mind-blowing as this concept.

The front of Husmen’s Tesla pickup consists of thin LED headlights unlike
any found on previous or current Tesla vehicles. Additionally, there is also
a small faux grille and a skid plate at the base of the bumper.

As the vehicle will obviously be all-electric, Tesla should be able to
expand the cabin and push it forward compared to a typical pickup. Husmen’s
design reflects this and shows a windshield which stretches as far forward
as the front axle of the truck.

In addition, the study incorporates a massive wheelbase and adopts a set of
radical doors with aggressive indentations and diagonal body lines. The rear
of the car incorporates a relatively small bed and LED taillights just as
unique as the headlights.

While it remains to be seen if the Tesla Pikcup will look as radical as
this, we’re not holding our breaths, particularly when you consider how
restrained the design of the new Model Y is.

Looks aside, Musk has said that the new EV will include an advanced
suspension which adjusts rear damping, rebound, and compression depending on
what cargo the vehicle is carrying. Additionally, there will be 360-degree
cameras and sonar, and the pickup will offer seating for six people and a
range of between 400 and 500 miles (643 km – 804 km).
