It appears that you can get the fobs online for around $50, but programming
them requires the Nissan diagnostic tool.
You can do the same net search I did ("nissan leaf key programming") and
you'll learn that some locksmiths have the required gadget. They may be
cheaper than the dealer, but they won't work for free. Looks like you'll be
lucky if you can get it done for $100 all up.
When I was a teenager back in the early 1970s, I could start and drive
either of my family's cars, a 1961 Dodge Lancer and a 1965 Dart, with 2 clip
leads. I guess automotive security has changed since then.
