No, some fool\bozo cut the att fiber optic line in my area [ https://www.kcentv.com/mobile/article/news/local/fiber-cut-causes-outage-for-killeen-area-att-customers/500-550028526 ] so I had zero,nada,zip bars (I could not tether an internet connection off my cell phone - Its dead, Jim)). There I was with all this items to post and no way to do it. I did have spotty wifi to mooch off of, but it was so unreliable (had to start over and over just to send an email out). Well, now my 4G is back up, but my data cap has been approached, so I can connect, but at a sloooower throughput speed. I will be glad when I get a house and have more ways to connect so I will have plenty of work-arounds (= always be connected). (EVent) Willie let me know of the N.TX EVent I posted [ http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/EVent-N-TX-Tesla-Supercharger-Party-5-18-S-lake-Plano-Dallas-tp4690057p4690059.html ], but I could not last for the whole-day EVent (I'm not the young Bruce anymore, and poop/tire out like an old man). So, I missed out on hooking up with Willie, and getting to very-early morning ride in his Tesla to northern Dallas at the beginning of the EVent. At the same time, I am having my ice worked on ($$$$) but today it was not ready for me to pickup (I'll have to wait without wheels until next week). But it isn't just being stir crazy, I haven't hung out with EV drivers in a LONG while (yup, EV-withdrawals). So, I booked a rental. Tomorrow Sat. morning I will fold-up my walker/rollator, pack my pills, and uber my way to the local airport, rent a brucedp sized ice, and do the 3 hours to Dallas so I can network with the EVrs for a while. 3hrs to Dallas +2hrs of yakking EVs +3hrs return is a long 8hr day without a mid-day nap for this old-man. *Newswire status: now that I have internet again, the news items are still slow in coming. I had to comb going back several days to find most of my down time was just the media beating up on Musk for his snarky remarks to short-selling so-called financial-experts. That has quieted down now that Spacex launched & landed, and Musk has offered free LA bored tunnel rides. The EV items have not increased, there is just a little less media hate to wade through. There are still the same old anti-EV (Koch-koolaid) items to ignore, and a lot of re- re- re- hashing of the same EV stories (is an EV worth it, will EVs crash the grid, are batteries safe or toxic, men-don't want EVs women-do -meaning it is effeminate to drive an EV, etc.). I have several days worth of evdl post to make so as to catch up, but I will try not to overload the evdl with them all at once.
