There has to be someplace closer! Electric motors and their repair shops are ubiquitous. My son-in-law has an electric motor repair business in Bellingham, Washington, and is an EV enthusiast. That’s a lot further than New York, but my point is that any city the size of Bellingham (~88,000) should be able to support such a business. His “territory” in about 100 miles, ranging from the Canadian border north, to about half-way to the bigger city of Everett to the south, where there are other motor shops. In Florida, I’d go visit the maintenance shop of a nearby golf course, and ask them where they get their golf carts fixed, and follow that chain.
