Last week E.ON launched its ambitions to introduce 10,000 electric car chargers across Europe over the next three years. As part of the promotion, a number of all-electric cars featured in the trailer including a monster truck and a hyper. The hypercar is built by California-based startup RAESR ‘Rice Advanced Engineering Systems and Research’ and is being dubbed as the ‘Tachyon Speed.’ It is an all-electric hypercar which produces an eyewaterinw 1,250bhp and 4,949Nm of torque. Rumoured top speed for the Tachyon Speed, which is named after the theoretical particle that moves faster than light, is 240mph. In addition to the monstrous top speed os a 0-60mph figure of three seconds. The car can also get from 0120mph in under 7.0 seconds and a quarter of a mile in under ten seconds. It is powered by six different direct—drive electric motors Not only is it an absolute powerhouse the car has a decent amount of range. The company says it is good for about 150 miles on a single charge in ‘city driving’ conditions. One of the coolest things about the car is the jet-fighter inspired tandem two seater design. While to was designed this way primarily for aerodynamic reasons, the car also embodies that style with its dramatic proportions. Its front wings and adjustable rear wings can provide over 454kg of downforce and the exterior is made of carbon fibre and the interior made of Kevlar. These lightweight materials help to achieve a dry-weight of 1,338kg. The company is currently taking limited reservations for the hypercar via its website [ http://www.raesr.com/ ].
