In the article, I see nothing that says either than Tesla has maxed out on its credits, or that they would be better off with the elimination of the tax credit. The credits that Musk says are a "crummy business" are not the tax credits we are talking about. Those are California ZEV credits, which Tesla can sell to others. Even though they are a "crummy business", the ZEV credits are responsible for he profitable quarter, though they can't monetize them to the extent they think they should.

Date: 12/25/16, 3:12 PM The elimination of the $7,500 tax break associated with EVs would be beneficial to Tesla since they have just about used up their allotted 200,000 production allotted to each manufacture. It would level the playing field for them. Of Course it would hurt those who still have only partially used their allotment. For example it would make the Bolt and the Tesla 3 competitively priced, whereas with the 7.5 tax break, the Bolt will cost less when Tesla hits their limit. -- View this message in context: http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/Re-A-Bolt-EV-experience-tp4685025p4685075.html Sent from the Electric Vehicle Discussion List mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org Read EVAngel's EV News at http://evdl.org/evln/ Please discuss EV drag racing at NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA) -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
