The Boise, Idaho version of the National Drive Electric Week was held this afternoon, Sunday, September 11, 2016. It was a great EVent, with gorgeous weather and great attendance. The location at Idaho Power also let people grab an L2 charge if they needed it.
In addition to the Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, Ford CMax Energi, and Tesla Model S that are seen fairly often on Boise streets, attendees also got a chance to look over vehicles that are more rare in Idaho. Those included: BMW i3, VW e-Golf, Mitsubishi iMiev, Fiat 500e, Tesla Model X and a Chevy Spark. Many of these vehicles aren't sold in Idaho, so they are very rare. I hadn't seen some of the cars before this show. We also had some EV conversions. They included a VW van, VW beetle (original), and a Datsun 280Z. Conversions are always popular with the public because you can see the parts that make up the EV better. We had an entire parking lot full of plug-in vehicles! For the first time, the EVDL's very own EVangel, Brucedp5, was in attendance at the Boise show! He happily spent the afternoon discussing EV causes with a whole new group of people. I was honored to meet another EV enthusiast and one with such an extensive background in the cause. Bruce asked me to pass along to the group that he might be offline for a day or two as he travels back home. Thanks, Bruce, for all you do for the EV cause!
