Around here (Idaho), the highways have a speed limit of 55 to 65 mph, and the 
freeway has a speed limit of 65 or 80 mph.  On any of those, you would have 
people backed up far behind you, if you drive 50 mph.  Most people seem to go 5 
over the speed limit at a minimum, an 7-10 over seems to becoming more common.
