In May last year, Renault Samsung Motors released its plan for operating the compact electric vehicle in the country with Seoul City and BBQ, a food service provider. However, the project came to a halt after the ministry notified Seoul City of the cancellation of the temporary permission. At that time, the ministry said that the Twizy is not allowed on the road because it belongs to no category according to the Automobile Management Act. The current Automobile Management Act divides automobiles into the five categories of cars in general, vans, trucks, special-purpose vehicles and two-wheel vehicles. The Enforcement Regulations of the Automobile Management Act contain specific criteria regarding the classification. The ministry is going to include compact electric vehicles into the regulations. The Twizy is 2,335 mm in length, 1,233 mm in width and 1,451 mm in height. It has a transport capacity of 180 liters and 75 kg and can run up to 100 km once fully charged. More than 60% of the French customers of the Twizy, which is attracting an increasing attention as a convenient and safe next-generation urban transport vehicle, are small transport businesses.
