I'm not the original poster, but I can give you one reason. Regardless of
generation, Brusa makes (and has made for years) the most flexible, smartest
chargers I've ever seen.

More importantly, they are NOT locked down by default. Some EV chargers are
quite smart, but they're deliberately locked by their manufacturers, either
into one fixed profile or into a list of unmodifiable selectable ones.
These EV chargers aren't really meant for EV hobbyists who like to tweak and
change things. They're aimed at manufacturers who don't want the owners
tinkering - ever.

Other chargers - including some fairly popular with EV hobbyists - are open,
but just aren't very smart and/or programmable.

Brusa chargers are 100% user programmable. They have what amounts to a
programming language. The factory provides full documentation. You can use
Brusa's premade profiles as-is, modify one, or write your own from scratch.
If you think your finishing voltage or current is too high, you can lower
it. If you'd like to try dv/dt, you can. If you want to change your
battery voltage (over a wide range), that's easy to do.

Brusa's main downside is that they are rather expensive chargers in terms of
dollars per watt.
