Lee, is your data available somewhere?
Much of my data is in the form of personal notebooks, so it's very
time-consuming to put online. Though I have typed in and posted a *lot*
of data on the EVDL over the years (probably more than anyone else).
When I do tests for someone under contact, they own the data. So I can't
publish that without their permissions. Frankly, most companies want
their data kept private, unless they can profit from it.

One never really knows, of course. However, if I fully charge a cell,
immediately measure its capacity as (say) 100ah, recharge it, measure it
again after sitting a year and it delivers 95ah, recharge it, test again
immediately and it delivers 99ah, then I can be fairly sure that the
loss was due to self-discharge and not simply aging.
That said, batteries are peculiar beasts. You can test the very same
cell over and over, and get different capacities on each test. Their
capacity tends to improve with gentle cycling anyway.

If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
