Newer (mostly European) cars with that feature will shut down the engine when you push the brake in at a stoplight (some of them do it as soon as you push the clutch in and are coasting to a stop...) and not re-start the engine until you release the clutch. Because the starter is much larger and requires more power, Lithium is a better choice.
