Another sign of the unofficial beginning of summer? Beer, brats and plenty of outdoor fun. The Michigan Beer & Brat Festival takes place this Sat., May 23, at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville. What started as a gathering of a handful of Michigan brewers is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will host more than 30 breweries – upwards of 90 different brews – from around the state. More than two dozen brats from local markets will also be available. Eleven of the breweries will also participate in the Brewer's Special Reserve Trail, in which a featured beer is released in limited quantity every 30 minutes. Live music by the Sweetwater Blues Band and The Rock Show. Also on hand will be electric vehicles from Tesla, GM, BMW, Nissan and Cadillac along with MGs, Jags and Triumphs of the British Car Club.
