Whatever the situation is today with Li ion cells, it will be very
different in a few years or a decade. There is little economy of scale in
the industry.  Understanding of proper QA by users or by many suppliers is
almost non-existent.  Besides which prior methods and equipment for testing
have been very poor.

This is all going to change.
