IMO, perception is perceived as reality, and perception can be manipulated
to be perceived in a way that helps a business, cause, profits, etc. (that
is how highly paid advertizing agencies earn their pay> change public
opinion/perception).

Qualifier: Since I am in the U.S. and at this time the current possibility
of the Twizy being available in the U.S. is nil, what I know of the Twizy is
from afar. And it isn't that I have a love-affair with the Twizy, I like all
EVs. But old, archaic, stodgy U.S. thinking, laws and regulations, greatly
prevent new ideas/products from being offered (Twizy would have-to de-tune
its performance to a nEV to make it on U.S. roads, etc.). Those very reasons
are likely why the U.S. has not seen the Twizy (or a Twizy
doppelganger/ersatz) offered in the States.

It is possible that Canada and Mexico will get Twizy EVs in N. America long
before the U.S. does for those and other reasons: old-thinking. Some people
see the Twizy as an inexpensive vehicle that fits most of their driving
needs (whether personal or business). Remember the Twizy is doing well in
non-U.S. countries, so as an EV choice, it is no-slouch.

> All Renault has to do is put doors on the Twizy

What few people have seen of the Twizy, may think it only comes with
lightweight doors,

 and on the Twizy Cargo

And some Twizy owners have written their ideas on the original Twizy doors
http://lifeintwizy.blogspot.com/2014/01/my-foldable-windows-for-my-twizy.html

But there are other doors to be had for the Twizy, especially in sales areas
that have weather that demands it (rain&show), see these with the windows
rolled up

Here the windows frame is shown

 which work even in snow

So, if you thought the Twizy only had open air doors (like a dune-buggy),
you are mistaken. Then again, for those that have perceived what their
actual needs are, and want a dune buggy experience with their Twizy, there
are those that like Twizys with no-doors

IMO, it boils down to what your perceived needs are, whether they are
told-to-you that you need (advertizements, etc.), or what is your
life-training has taught you (do what your neighbors do or think, (like
monkey-see, monkey-do).

When you mentally strip down to what your actual needs and wants are, they
will likely be different than what you originally perceived they were. This
is the challenge EVangels are faced with daily: gently letting the public
see on their own (as their own idea), that EVs will fit most of their
driving needs.
