How about an M Version of the BMW i3?

The i3 is by no means a race car. It was built for a different purpose
completely but its design is still baffling for some. While BMW claims that
even though this is just an EV destined for city chores, some want it to be
a little more.

Judging by how light it is, especially in comparison to the current BMW
line-up, the i3 was bound to stir up the most imaginative of minds. The guys
from X-Tomi design put together a rendering for Car Throttle imagining how
the EV would look like with the M treatment.

In this regard they changed the faux kidney grilles up front with some that
have double grilles, like on the current M models (they even added an Mi3
badge!), some F10 M5 wheels with carbon ceramic brakes behind them, a new
front bumper that imitates the one on the M5/M6 duo, new side sills,
M4-style mirrors and gills on the front fenders. Round the back hilarity
ensured when we saw the quad tailpipes, especially considering that the i3
has no such thing.

This is both an amusing and interesting rendering. While it might seem crazy
at first, we are actually imagining that some crazy tuner would actually
make it happen. Think just how crazy one such car would be without the
weight of the batteries for the electric engine but with an internal
combustion 2-liter plant, for example.

Keeping the electric motor as well to take down the turbo lag, if the engine
would be similar to the one on the 328i and taken up to around 300 HP and
400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, we’d have quite a stunner on our hands. Couple
that with the 1,200 kg of the car and you might be surprised of the results.
