Hi Charles! You have guessed right! Smart of you! I am chinese, now studying in Shanghai as a college student.
I would like to know which part of my name have sold me out, :)) does my last name do? Wang is the most common surname in China. I just Googled and found this from Wikipedia : Outside of China, there are also many people who bear Wang as their surname, such as in Korea. I have no idea if most of the Asians consider more of culture background, hmm...but definitely I will consider of it. There is a some culture gap between the Eastern and Western worlds, and multi-language is the bridge for cross-cultural communication. In fact, It strikes me that many English words have to do with religions, so if I try to use them freely, I should understand the religious background first. Well, could you pronounce my given name? it should be easy if you know Pinyin, for convenience, you could also pronounce "Ray" for it, it's simliar. Ah, this remind me of Ray Charles, as a musician, he has won lots of honors throughout his life, what a great guy! Wish you all a good time! :) 2009/12/13 Charles <[email protected]> > Hi Rui! > > That's funny! > > Where do you come from? > > From your name, I guess you may be from china. > And also, Asia civilians as Chinese consider more of culture thing. > such as having a English name for convenience for foreigner. > > Nice day! > > On Sun, Dec 13, 2009 at 2:31 PM, Rui Wang <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi All! > > Considering we learn English as a foreign language, language background > is > > ranked highly important to us!
