Hi Keishin Narsimha Ed Lucia Alberto Charles Pablo Oshiro Gail Serdar Hani and all other new and old faces,
It's been great seeing several silent members have finally spoken up since my short absence!:) It makes me wonder if I show up now, will you disappear again?! I certainly hope not!!!LOL To Keishin, I've been living and working in Poland away from my homeland,Taiwan for almost 3 years now! I know how you have been through being alone in a foreign country... It's time and distance that trigger our sense of loneliness and nostalgia,I believe. Those who have never been derooted for at least a longer period of time (not as a tourist who knows he/she will be home soon)will never understand how we feel every day when some things so trivial can appear so important to us. There are 2 significant differences between us: One which is you are single having none to share your joy and sorrows with face to face instantly. (how about talking with your family through Skype?) (how about meeting any fellow Chinese colleagues or acquaintances to spend your free time with?) I am living with my Poilsh-born better-half and 2 small children who go to kindergarten and priary school here,so my social netwrok has to be wider than yours. I have my students and acquaintances from work, neighbourhood and my kids' classmates, and those people give me a sense of belonging in a way. Another is that you are among orientals whose culture and customs are more similar to yours whileas I'm among eastern Europeans whose mentality and behaviours are quite contrary to mine, not alone the food, climate, environment, language and other aspects of life here... Don't give up your well-paid job in Nagoya because there are so many people of your age dying for an opportunity like yours. It does provide you a very good reference next time you apply for any jobs everywhere else in the world, even back home in China as all companies need employees with a global view and high intercultural IQs. I am very certain your life in Japan will become one of the most memorable times of your life when you are too old to move around or travel!LOL To Alberto, You mentioned that you like playing at the theatre. Are you a stage actor?;) I was watching Dolcenera(?) performing live for RTL102.5 on satellite TV last week ,and was so moved by the female vocalist's voice while she performed solo with just a piano on a windy evening!!! I'll listen to the song you chose for us right after this! Thank you for starting an interesting thread like that!;) To Charles and Oshiro, I haven't forgotten my replies to you, two!;) I'll get back to you later today... Have a pleasant day, everyone! It's great to be back again!
