Hello Hani and Pln
Thank you for remember me this lin Pln.

Hani, go to page given by Pln and read the articles from Warren
( http://groups.google.com/group/eslpodcast/web/pages?hl=en)

I ask how to improve english alone. That´s a great question.

Thats´s my own opnion:

For english conversation, you need two important things,
first be able to organize your thinking in words with your vocabulary(no
concerned with grammar rules)
and second a understandable pronunciation.

Of course that to improve english alone sometimes is not funny, but
can be unique way someone have.

You can increase your vocabulary reading and writing. It´s what you do here.

You can train you brain to organize thinking , speaking aloud to your self
what you want to speak.

But how to train the pronunciation and have a feedback if your pronunciation
is good is the challenge.

Listening good stuffs like the podcast from www.eslpod.com you can to train
you listening, and using good software of speech recognition like the
following you can trains you pronunciation:

Nuance - Dragon <http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/>
NaturallySpeaking Speech Recognition Software

All this you can do alonw, can´t you ?

But this is my opnion and its not based on scientific research, was just a
way I found to learn by myself.

Take care

Ed.

Hi Hani Claire Ed Charles Kevin Briana Oshiro and so many more,

Hani,warm welcome to the groups!
Thanks for your willingness to help other members!:)

As far as I am concerned as an ESL/EFL teacher,If you can think like a
machine, that means you have reached a higher level of language
acquisition!
Please note that I don't mean it's a good thing as a permenant
state,but it's a necessary stage of it...

Sorry that I don't have much time to explain the details to you now...
Please allow me to give you the links to 5 articles 'The Informed
Student' written by Warren:
(They can be found at the homepage of esl podcast together with other
helpful links to live chat, entertaining videos, and etc accumulated by
ED,the moderator:))

If you have further questions, feel free to ask me or anyone else
available here!;)

Good day to you all,
Pln
