If my girlfriend is unsure where to go, I say to her to fish or cut bait.
When she finishes putting her make-up on, she fishes for a compliment.
Sometimes I have to be fishy, but that's generally an exception.

When I was a child, once my father went to a fishing expedition trying to
discover what I was doing. I told him sarcastically that if he wanted to know
that, he could just ask anybody in the town, because we were living in a
fishbowl. However, my father couldn't know I had been drinking like a fish.
When he discovered and came up to me, I became green around the gills. My
father didn't want to talk to me anymore for a time, and I felt a fish out of
water in my home.

Note: "Create a Phrase with" is a funny way to learn a new expression, word or
phrasal verb. You just need to create a understandable phrase with the
suggested expression. On this way you can connect the expression with your own
phrase and remember it more easy, you will also allow that more members learn
the meaning with your phrase.
Suggestion are welcome, send a email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
