will use a mix of GPOs and autoconfig. I'll try to install
extensions with policies too.

We've added a policy recently for this.
DisableSystemAddonUpdate
works for all addons? I can't find any other policy for user
addons.
Why do you
disable the extensions blocklist?
Because we previously
needed the .NET Framework extension and it was blocked. Now it is
not necessary anymore.
