Hi, I have not deployed Firefox as an App-v5-package in a Citrix environment using GPO. I have a general understanding of GPO, Citrix and App-V. For the admx file, that’s a standard Microsoft standards-based XML file format that you include in your infrastructure the same way as other admx files (for example for Office). https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb530196.aspx
The results of GPOs are “simply” registry entries on the targeted Windows system. You have to make sure your GPOs apply to the Windows systems on which you run Firefox. So, for Citrix, the GPOs must apply to your Citrix servers (if you are running Firefox as a published application) or your VDI machines. For App-V, a sequenced application is still able to read the local registry, as long as you haven’t overridden the registry entries in the virtual layer. So, the Firefox which is deployed as an App-V package should still be able to read the registry entries related to the GPO settings and apply them. Maybe you have to set LOCAL_INTERACTION_ALLOWED to TRUE. Has anyone succesfully deployed Firefox as an App-v5-package in a Citrix environment using GPO? Thanks in advance, Wim Op wo 5 sep. 2018 18:17 schreef Fjoerfoks <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>: Hi, I was reading through the docs today for GPO and/or policies.json. What I kind of missed, was how to deal with the admx-files and how Firefox 'sees' these GPO from the AD. Is it just as simple as edit firefox.admx and add/open it in the GPO-editor? How does it interact when Firefox is delivered as an App-v5-package? I kind of miss this in the docs, but maybe this list can share some basic info from experienced users.
