I've had some time to modify our AD environment to start applying GPOs to Firefox.
So far, everything seems to be working, as far as I can tell. I was able to disable pocket, turn off spying (I mean telemetry, due to policies outside our control we can't allow that in our environment) as well as install extensions and the like. I do have a few questions... 1. I've disabled pocket (as in: it's nowhere in the menus), but the newtab is still giving me pocket suggestions? 2. Is there a way to customize the newtab interface for new users? We have a lot of non-tech-savvy users and the new tab will be overwhelming for these users. Ideally, having the newtab set to a blank page would be ideal, enforced through GPO. This doesn't necessarily need to be a locked pref, if our power users want to show their history/etc that's not an issue, so just an initial setting would be great. 3. Most importantly, I can't find a way to redirect the bookmarks. We map a user share and I've redirected IE to put their favorites/bookmarks there so that they are captured during the backup. From reading online you can manually set up a new profile location which would include the bookmarks and other bits in the profile, but it would be more ideal to map it to their home directory/drive via GPO. Assuming, of course, this doesn't lead to cache information being stored on our server. Thanks for any insight, Dan _______________________________________________ Enterprise mailing list [email protected] https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/enterprise To unsubscribe from this list, please visit https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/enterprise or send an email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe"
