Thank you very much for the feedback.
I will look into the add-ons suggested, though there are definitely more
issues affecting performance then just in-webpage scripts.

Unfortunately with FF57+ the addons API has changed dramatically and
lacks many features of the previous API which allowed addons to
customize the interface. For example, with FF57+, Classic theme restorer
addon (which restores UI look and function to pre-australis) is dead by
default.

I'm not against change, nor am I against rewriting code to improve
software.
I however completely disagree with newer versions (of anything, hardware
or software) that kill significant and valueable functionality.
