Howdy and Happy New Year! One feature request for the new policy engine for ESR60 is to force Firefox to automatically upgrade via GPO. We have a lot of versions of Firefox in our environment and are constantly trying to keep versions updated via SMS. Our success rate with SMS is only about 85% penetration, which is not acceptable. With security being such a high priority, the ability to keep as many applications on the latest version is vital.
While Firefox does upgrade itself, it is dependent on the user to open Firefox and in most cases, use Help > About to initiate the update. Google Chrome has better update options and we are going to consider installing their ADX templates to force upgrades.
