Thanks a lot Mike and Jorge for your help : this is fixed.

I wouldn't have bet the developer would have accepted to help, as the
addon is now unsupported. Thanks to him/her too.

So now the addon works again with Firefox ESR 52.x, and should carry on
working until the end of life of the 52.x branch (as initially planned).
