We have some tolerance for going off-topic, but the real problem is you're unlikely to find good, accurate answers on MIME parsing here. Enigmail uses a very specific flavor of MIME called PGP/MIME; if you have questions about that, there are experts aplenty here. But MIME is a *much* larger subject than PGP/MIME, and we're not experts on MIME generally. Please don't think anybody here is angry at you, so much as we literally are not qualified to give you the answers you seek. :(
