Yes, I know I'm going to catch hell for this, but I'm trying to install
lcnc on a laptop...

Hp probook 645 g2
Amd processor
Radeon graphics

Had a hell of a time getting legacy support to even work on this thing.
Finally got Linux installed after 3 and a half hours of head scratching.
Everything boots up properly, terminal works, wicd opens up, I can get apt
updates in terminal, that all works fine.

What doesn't work is EVERYTHING ELSE. I can't open glxgears - gui freezes,
i can't open thunar - gui freezes, i can't open LCNC - gui freezes,
synaptic - freezes, geany - freezes, you get the idea.

It was doing it from the live boot session, but i thought it may have been
a fluke, apparently it isn't a fluke. The weird thing is, if I open, for
example, thunar and click somewhere on the desktop, it'll work again, only
to freeze when trying to open a folder, etc, etc.

While this is happening, ctrl+alt+f1 will give me a login shell and that
all works perfectly. I believe it's a faulty gpu driver but I'm not sure
how to fix it.

Any suggestions?
