And this is something that can rear its ugly head even in a 6 foot cable. I think I'll start by cutting it down to 30" or so, just for S&G. Proper termination might be something the maker failed to comprehend, and used a two wire cable of unk impedance, possibly even lumpy in which shorter would speed up the ringing, but it would be close to zero at bit sample time, and would decay to an always good sample at the lower baud rate because the new sample time at the middle of a bit would be quieter due to the longer delay between the noise making edge, and the middle of the bit. So I'll do that tommorrow.
