That is actually a factor of 100 too thick, if I translate your 0.00001" right to 245nm. A fresh aluminum surface oxidizes to about 2nm within hours and then continues to grow logarithmically with time. At 2nm, there is even enough tunnelling current through the oxide without needing dielectric breakdown. (I work on and with detectors using that). Easy to punch with a tool without even a scratch.
